Propositions are always a fun way to make
some great coin in NFL betting
action. Here is our list of the top pro football props to bet on for the order
of finish of the AFC North in 2010.
If the Steelers can find a way to survive
the first month of the season without the suspended Ben Roethlisberger, they
will be a huge threat to win the AFC North once again. The 2008 Super Bowl
champs missed the playoffs last year because they got lax towards the end of
the season and lost a number of games they had no business losing. Now, Troy
Polamalu is back healthy, which could make a world of difference for a normally
dominant defense that looked tame at times last year.
However, the Bengals are stacked up this year and could put in a second straight surprising solid run in the division. Carson Palmer and the passing attack failed miserably at times, which made the AFC North title all the more impressive. However, the former USC Trojan now has Terrell Owens, Antonio Bryant, and rookie Jermaine Gresham to get the pigskin to, which should also help returner Chad Ochocinco. The questions here are whether or not the defense and Comeback Player of the Year Cedric Benson can reproduce last season's phenomenal numbers.
The Browns are on the longest winning
streak in the game right now at four games, which could set up a nice run to
start their 2010 campaign. However, we just don't see that aura lasting through
the entire season. Jake Delhomme isn't the answer at quarterback, and we don't
think Colt McCoy is either. There is still a lot of work to do for guys like
Jerome Harrison to carry this team to consistent victories.
Then there is Baltimore. The Ravens are a
fantastic squad this year that may be the team to beat, not just in the AFC
North, but in the entire conference as well. Joe Flacco, now in his third
season, has the ability to be a 4,000 yard quarterback with the addition of
perennial 1,000+ yard receiver Anquan Boldin. The rushing attack remains strong
with both Ray Rice and Willis McGahee toting the pigskin. The defense should be
fantastic once again as well, especially with Sergio Kindle and Terrence Cody
joining the fold.
Quoth the Ravens, win, win, and win some
more. Baltimore is going to walk away from this division, and though it seems
like a bit of a chalky proposition, we can't help but think that the Steelers
are going to challenge for a playoff berth as well. Cincinnati might be the
defending champ in the division, but it will finish a distant third. Bank on
Baltimore and Pittsburgh for this pro football prop.
